INVESTOR PITCH

Imagine a tree-free paper industry

It started with a notebook. Today, 3,000+ companies write on stone paper. €6M revenue in four years. Next step: building Europe's first circular, tree-free paper industry.

We're raising €500.000. Are you in?

The problem

Demand for paper is crumbling our planet

Globally, 2.1 billion trees are cut down yearly for paper alone. That's 17% of all trees the world loses every year.

Demand is expected to double by 2050, converting more native forests into production forests. Paper already accounts for 33 to 40% of all harvested wood and uses more water per tonne than any other industry on earth.

Source: WWF Global Forest & Trade report

How much green will be left by 2041?

If the current deforestation rates continue in the next 20 years, we won't recognize the maps we grew up with.

The false fix

Paper and cardboard are hard to justify

Paper is often seen as a sustainable alternative to plastic. But the production of paper consumes enormous amounts of natural resources. Contrary to popular belief, recycling is not the solution it appears to be. It still requires virgin raw materials. It slows the bleed, but doesn't close the loop.

The hidden environmental costs are high:
Deforestation
Roughly 35% of global wood supply goes to paper production.
Water waste
On average 1 liter of water is wasted per sheet of paper produced.
Higher emissions
Recycling needs new materials and emits CO₂ throught the process.

EU regulations are catching up

From single-use to re-use

The EU has passed laws that, as of 2026, mandate businesses to transition to genuinely sustainable solutions. Not just greener versions of the same old thing.

EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)

Forces companies to prove their supply chains are not linked to deforestation, making wood-based paper and cardboard harder to source and increasingly difficult to justify.

EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)

Requires companies to shift from single-use to reusable packaging, creating urgent and growing demand for sustainable alternatives to cardboard and plastic.

The solution

Stone beats tree as a raw material

Stone paper is made from limestone waste, a byproduct of construction and mining. No trees. No water. No harmful chemicals. And, it's a 100% recyclable.

A circular material with unique properties make it a higher-quality and sustainable alternative to traditional tree-pulp paper and cardboard.

The Impact

MOYUs working their magic!

One MOYU notebook replaces 15 notebooks. That's roughly 1.500 sheets of tree paper. By extending a notebook's lifetime, we avoid waste and push back recycling as far back as possible. Which results in:

94% less CO₂ emissions - Tree paper notebooks emit 0.4 kg versus the 0.37 kg for stone paper (practically the same). The impact is in the reusability, with each use saving 0.4 kg of CO₂. A 94% for 15 notebooks.

1.500 liters of water saved - On average, making a tree paper sheet wastes 1 liter of water. Stone paper wastes 0 liters. MOYUs have 20 sheets, so that’s 20 liters of water saved. A total of 1.500 liters after replacing 15 notebooks.

0,80 Gj energy saved - A stone paper notebook uses 0,80 Gj less energy during its life cycle compared to 15 paper notebook.

Data to back up our sustainability claims

Reforestion to counter deforestation!

We don't stop at replacing tree-paper with stone paper. We take things one step further by contributing to planting one tree for every notebook sold.

PROVEN CONCEPT

Sustainable & affordable business case

It's true our stone paper and cardboard are more expensive than the tree alternatives. But if you reuse them, you end up saving quite a lot of money.

To calucalte the potential savings of replacing regular notebooks with MOYU we make the assumption that on average a person uses 5 notebooks per year.

A MOYU has around 1/3 the pages of a regular notebook, this means that reusing a MOYU 90 times can replace 15 notebooks in a span of 3 years. And this is conservative since a MOYU can be reused up to 500 times.

Beyond the Notebook

MOYU was never just about notebooks. It is about raising awareness and making stone paper the obvious replacement for tree paper where possible. Our next step is to replicate the success of our notebooks in the promotional gifting sector in Germany, generating the revenue to fund what comes next. Starting with school materials and packaging.

We are running a government supported pilot in primary schools across the Netherlands. One class per school receives free notebooks in exchange for structured feedback. Once we refine our products for educational use, Heutink and Reinders, the two largest school supply wholesalers in the country, will adopt them into their portfolio. Children who grow up writing on stone paper grow up knowing the alternative exists.

We are also moving into packaging with Stonepacker: a deposit-based shipping box made from corrugated stone paper. Ten billion boxes are shipped globally every year, all single use, all from trees. Making the shipping box reusable is not just a product innovation. It is a shift in what people expect from packaging.

OUr Ultimate goal

Make NL the heart of circular paper production in EU

Thanks to the Dutch Government, we are on the verge of a breakthrough for producing stone paper locally.

Waste to paper
We produced the first batch of pallets made from calcium waste and recycled plastic.

Opportunity to patent a blueprint
We want to patent a process that partners can use to setup local stone paper production and recycling.

The roadmap

The business plan

Step 1

Expand to new countries

Build on the consistent €1.2M revenue in NL
From the 2M companies in NL, roughly 100.000 are mid/large sized companies. We estimate 40.000 are active with sustainability. Over 4 years, 3.000 of them (5%) have placed an average order of €2.400.

€21M opportunity in DE and UK
Germany has 3.5M companies. The UK has 5.5M. Using NL as the model, we are targeting a €8.4M turnover in DE and €13.2M in the UK over the next 5 years. We will use the experience of these two markets to expand further at an accelerating pace.
Investment: €300k
Step 2

Introduce stone paper in schools

Test stone paper in classroom
Through a government-supported pilot, we are placing stone paper notebooks in primary schools across the Netherlands. One class per school, free notebooks, structured feedback in return. The goal is to understand how stone paper can be used in education and what an ideal product would look like. The next step would be to invest in developing that product. Heutink and Reinders, the two largest wholesalers of school supplies, have committed to adding stone paper products to their portfolios once we develop a product that schools want and need.

Awareness programs
The generation that grows up with stone paper is the generation that normalises it. To that end, we are also developing educational material about deforestation for teachers to bring into the classroom.
Investment: €100k
Step 3

Launch reusable boxes

Stonepacker is ready and the logistics network is in place
Our reusable stone paper shipping box. Waterproof, tear-resistant, and reusable up to 20 times. Webshops ship orders in a Stonepacker, customers return it at any of 2,500+ BOXO deposit points across the Netherlands, get €3.95 back, and the box re-enters circulation. For webshops it costs €1.30 per shipment. No subscriptions, no minimum order.

The plan
We are currently in active talks with Bol.com and several other major e-commerce players to roll out Stonepacker across their webshop and internal logistics operations. The system plugs directly into Shopify, WooCommerce, and Sendcloud.

Phase one: close the first two to three anchor partners and build volume in the Netherlands.

Phase two: use those references to accelerate adoption across the Dutch e-commerce market of 300 million+ shipping boxes per year.

The €100K goes toward production capacity for the first batch, fulfilment integration, and the commercial push needed to close the conversations already in progress.
Investment: €100k
Step 4

Produce stone paper in NL

From Taiwan to the Netherlands
Stone paper is currently manufactured in Taiwan. Bringing production to Europe is the defining step in making stone paper economically competitive with traditional paper at scale. Local production means shorter supply chains, lower logistics costs, and a credible circular economy story for European customers and regulators.

The blueprint is already being built
With support from the Dutch Government, we have produced the first batch of pallets from local waste and recycled plastic. We want to develop a patentable production process that European partners can license to produce and recycle products based on stone-pulp.
Future investment: €500k
